How Do I upgrade PHP on GeorgiaWebs.org Hosting?

On a godaddy hosting, you have two versions of PHP language to choose from PHP 4.0  and PHP 5.xx

When you create a database to install an application, you are asked to choose a version.

Why do you want to upgrade PHP?

Some applications run better on php4, some on php5.  Do your research to determing if that's really what you want to do.

How to upgrade?

First, go to http://www.georgiawebs.org and  log into your account.  If you don't know your username and password, then you can use the forgot password/username links...or you can call them.

Once logged in, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. In the My Products section, select Hosting.
3. Next to the hosting account you want to modify, click Manage Account.
4. In the Content section of the Hosting Control Center, click the Languages icon.
5. Select PHP version you’d like to set as the default.
6. Click Continue.
7. Verify the listed changes, and then click Update.

Your Language change will be submitted and takes upto 24 hours for the change to be processed by the server.

NOTE: Although PHP 5 is the most current version, many applications still require version 4. Therefore, making this update may cause some of your PHP files to run incorrectly.

That's it... that's how easy it is.
