We're not going to lie about it.  When we saw this message posted on Ninja Forge (http://www.ninjaforge.com) we thought it was such a good idea that we decide to borrow it.  

We know at S.T.A.N. that even though our services are of great value, not everyone can afford a membership for whatever reason.

Luckilly our aim at S.T.A.N.  isn't to hoard as much cash as we can, but to contribute and gather as much value as we can and share it with our members.

So anyone that provides some value for our members can earn themselves a month at silver if a free member, or an upgrade if already a member.

These are cumulative, so yes you could earn a membership and upgrades all the way up to a life member without ever paying a cent simply by contributing to the community.

In fact, once we sell out our last life membership. The only way to get one will be via contributions.

The easiest method is to take advantage of this and get an upgrade is the Help Us Out Program. Anyone that joins under the free program, will get bumped to a paid subscription as soon as they posts 50 items.  If those are articles..that's fine.  If those items are helping in the forum... that's fine.  If you want to submit a planning document... we think that's great as well. The aim is to improve the quality and value of our service faster by putting many eyes over them, and rewarding those who do.

If coding isn't your thing, then other things you could do to earn a membership are - write a brief tutorial or several usage tips for some extensions, provide 5+ honest reviews for products you have access to on the JED, write a brief article about a topic that might be of interest to our members,  offer us an ad on your site, or literally anything interesting and useful to our members that you can think of. Just send us an email with your offer, and we will work out something that is Win/Win/Win for everyone.

Genuine non profit groups can send us an email, and if they are prepared to put a tasteful 'Supported by Sales Training And Networking'  link or image on their site, then we will give you free access as well.
