Remove Title From A Static Page In Blogger
I've been a Google Apps user for years. I'ave also designed, created, and maintained quite a few different types of websites. I've used Joomla, DotNetNuke, FullXML, Wix, WordPress, Mambo, Stripe and others. You name it, I've probably used. it. All of them have their issues. There are people who will tell you that Wordpress is the only way to go. Others will side with Blogger, and even less will say "Joomla'.  My guess on Joomla is because it's a difficult application to master. It is the most powerful of those mentioned, but it is also the hardest to master.

But So Is Blogger

Blogger is tough too. Not in the sense of adding content.  But from the standpoint of getting it to look the way you want. Regardless of what they say, you have to know quite a bit about CSS to get Blogger to look good. I'd say I'm about a 7 on a scale of 10 when it comes to CSS. So in order for me to manipulate the look, it has to be simple. This tutorial is that really.  Pretty easy instructions on how to remove the title from a Blogger Static Page.

I didn't like the "Title" that was there by Default on a Blogger site. I wanted to get rid of it.  I simply didn't like the way it displayed and left a gap at the top of the page.

Below is an image of what it looked like.

So to fix this I did some research and found that +Southern Speakers  had an article explaining how to remove it.  After I read it I started thinking about what was really involved here, and whether or not I wanted to go into the HTML code page for the site. It's not that I don't know how, I just didn't want to have to do it. I already customized plenty. It's just another 'thing' that could go wrong. So I decided to just experiment by adding it to the CSS file. It worked.  Here's how you can do the same on your site.

  1. Go to the Administrative area of your blogger Dashboard
  2. Select Template
  3. Select Customize
  4. Select the Advanced Label.
  5. From there add this to the CSS

.post-title.entry-title{

display: none;

}.

Here's what that will look like:

The Results

As you can see the Static Page Title Is removed. It removes it globally, so it will no longer show up on any of your pages.

Note: you should know that the method that I describe will remove ALL Titles from your pages. Use that method if you want total control over the title to you pages.

Do I Have Other Tutorials?

Yes, and as of this writing, I am doing everything I can to get them moved over to this site. I need to make sure that the proper mapping is done for them though, so they don't get lost in the move.

Can You Request A Tutorial?

You can if you're a subscriber. By that, I mean a paid subscriber.

Hat Creek Retrievers - Perry Georgia - A Blogger Site

Why Blogger?

I got a call from Ricky Sassnett. Ricky owns Computer Dreams, a local computer store. He had a customer that needed a website. There were three things that they needed from the site. It needed to be reasonably priced, easy to maintain, and stable technology.  After a short call with Jean O'Conner, I felt like Blogger would be the best solution for her.

It Was A Good Decision

The deployment of the site, along with the basic setup of the menus and original images was done for a cost of $495. This included 2 hours of training via a remote connection.  Since then HatCreekRetrievers.com has incurred no expense for development or hosting. Jean maintains her own site, and it has never been offline because of server downtime.

What About The Dogs :-)

At Hat Creek Farm we like to breed just a few litters a year. This enables us to spend a lot of time handling and socializing our puppies that will in turn become your trusted friend, hunting companion and family dog for years to come. Our puppies are of sound temperament and bred from generations of AKC & UKC TITLED dogs as well as SOLID HUNTING STOCK!

And The Dogs Registration?
